Many people have asked me "Do you get paid in scouts ?"
My reply would be "Even if I was offered to be paid, I would reject it. Getting paid in scouting takes away the whole meaning of scouting."
And I realise that in many instances we do things not for economics gains, not because someone told us to do it nor we do it for recognition. Instead we do some things purely for passion.
Another example is when I was Sports EXCO of the A-Levels Student Council. We were not paid, in fact we had to use some of our own expenses to carry out our jobs. I believe that what I gained from these experiences were much more than economic gains. I learned so much from them, made new friends, encountered new challenges, managed to help some people and most of all have fun.
